Kinbaku-bi (緊縛美) — literally means ‘the beauty of tight binding’. Designated to work with woman’s body. It is an allusion to restrain woman as a prisoner, being a symbol of dominating her.
Woman’s body is being sold in different ways. It’s perceived as a trade unit or a thing of a small worth.
It is exposed to you in the ways that please you.
A woman is bound to this image and is never free.
The society totally approves of it. So you get used to that too.
And you don’t see there is something wrong with that.
A chick is your mother, your sister, your girlfriend, your wife, your daughter.
It is an experimental story. A story of anyone, done through only one image that was taken with different aperture size: so that in the beginning you see a chick as it is, but then it starts to fade away and you can see less details. The same picture gets bleaker and bleaker until only a few contours are visible. That's the way we get used to what we are exposed to. After a while the feeling that something is wrong with that dissolves, leaving us totally blind to the matter. Berlin, 2014.
